Resources for Teaching Evidence-Based Medicine 

 

The Professor EBM blog reviews recent journal articles, with a focus on their validity, applicability and ethics.  Readers are encouraged to leave comments and questions.

The Centre for Health Evidence, maintained by the University of Alberta, naltrexone naltrexonealcoholismmedication.com naltrexone drug class helvetica,sans-serif">has the complete set of Users’ Guide to the Medical Literature series, which were published in JAMA.  This series is a useful step-by-step guide on how to interpret different types of journal articles.  

The Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine, maintained by the University of Toronto, includes resources to help clinicians practice and teach evidence-based medicine.  It includes the Critical Appraisal Worksheets, which accompany the Users' Guide to the Medical Literature.

The Stats Calculator on the Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine website can convert raw data into statistics such as likelihood ratios, relative risk reductions, absolute risk reductions, odds ratios, P values and confidence intervals.
